Tahoe: 1100-mile overnight ride

Woke up at 3am the other day and decided to grab a spot for the night beside Lake Tahoe. Flying through LA in the pre-dawn hours means you're greeted by sunrise somewhere between Mojave and the Owens Valley. The rest of the 500+ miles to the lake is easily some of the most stunning terrain anywhere in the world.

With the intention of timing the return trip through LA in the evening hours following traffic, I stopped for a relaxing soak in one of the remote natural hotsprings scattered throughout this area.

In the late afternoon, the journey south started. Caught the sunset at Red Rock Canyon and shortly afterward dived back into the fray of LA.
