Gala of Stars

Concordia University in Irvine, California has been a long time friend for whom I've been photographing events periodically over the years. One of the unique annual events they host each year is the "Gala of Stars" which has featured speakers such as actor Dean Jones, TV personality Stephanie Edwards, and this year, artist Gerald Brommer.

A personal highlight this year, was having Mr. Brommer pause mid-shoot to chat with me about his experience working with the renown architectural photographer Julius Shulman. Working with singular people like this, results in singular conversation.

As the event progressed, a mural was created in real-time during the musical

During the event, multiple artists scattered throughout the campus, created individual panes for this mural, which was assembled on stage only after the event had begun. A wonderful concept, demonstrating impressive skill, and heartfelt inspiration.
