Dual-Sport Tire Test

Worked a tire test for Roadrunner Magazine recently. Had opportunity to ride the same 1,500-mile route back-to-back on different sets of tires. Swapping treads back and forth between each ride provided quick insight into both wear and performance.

A KTM 1090 Adventure R and Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports spent many miles in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Wyoming for this test.

For the test, only the tools I carry with me on the bike were used to change tires (wheel balancer being an exception - it’s only along for exceptionally long rides where multiple sets of tires will be used up).
